Donor Advised Funds have become one of the most popular vehicles utilized for philanthropic giving. Even though they have been around for quite some time, there is still a lot of confusion among fundraisers on the benefits and challenges of DAFs. As contributions to and grants from DAFs continue to grow, it is critical for fundraisers to have a strong understanding of how a DAF works in order to develop successful gift strategies. Women in Development is pleased to convene a panel of DAF experts to discuss why donors use them, explain the differences among the main types of sponsoring organizations, and offer tips on how to overcome their unique challenges.
