Founder, H2 Growth Strategies

Linda C. Hartley is principal of H2Growth Strategies, providing counsel on planning, development and governance to improve performance, increase revenues, and create lasting social impact. With a team of eight specialists, H2Growth has partnered with 100 nonprofits to raise more than $1.5 billion.

Previously, Hartley served as Vice President of External Affairs at The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art. She held senior positions at Bard College, Columbia University, New School, and New York Public Library.  For 12 years she taught as an adjunct faculty member at the NYU Heyman Center for Philanthropy and Fundraising, and for 6 years she co-chaired and produced a regional Leadership Summit held at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, built on the site of the 1969 Woodstock Festival. Most recently, H2Growth produced Seattle’s first summit on racial and economic equity.

Hartley is the co-founder of the Equal Pay Coalition of NYC, and currently serves on the boards of both PowHer NY, a coalition of 100 women’s organizations advancing economic equality in New York State, and the Heritage Management Organization, an international nonprofit that trains professionals in more than 50 countries, transforming the world’s heritage assets into dynamic sources of learning, community identity, and economic development.

Hartley is the co-author of the book, Big Impact: Insights & Strategies From America’s Non-Profit Leaders.  David Callahan, Founder and Editor, of Inside Philanthropy said the book is, "A deep and nuanced look at top leaders of foundations and nonprofits in an era when civil society is more influential than ever. If you want to know how the grand masters of the social change sector think—and how they're attacking the biggest problems in America and the world—read this book."
